Glossary: Combat Sports

Catch-all term for Martial Artists but generally only applied to Mixed Martial Artists. Boxers and wrestlers often don't like to be called Marital Artists and Traditional Martial Artists often don't like to be lumped in with boxers, wrestlers and MMA guys.

People who participate in Combat Sports are Combat Athletes.

Really, a euphemism to distance MMA from "human cockfighting."
